Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG)
It is vital that students learn the skills required in an ever changing global society to manage their learning, career, to sustain employability and achieve personal and economic wellbeing and success throughout their lives.
The careers programme, delivered across all eight Gatsby Benchmarks, is provided through Personal Development and Citizenship (PDC) in Years 7 to 11 and through the Tutorial Programme in the 6th Form as part of the timetabled curriculum alongside a variety of careers events, talks and activities including work experience and employer engagement.
We have mapped the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks for good careers guidance to our school ethos:
- Excellence – inspire and support students to achieve excellence through a love of learning, and a desire to succeed. Gatsby benchmark 2, 3, 4 and 7.
- Endeavour – challenge continually to improve and understand that endeavour and effort are central to meeting the highest of expectations. Management. Gatsby benchmark 1, 3 and 8.
- Opportunity – provide a happy, purposeful and secure environment to allow our students the opportunity to develop and grow; to build confidence and self-belief; and to be enriched and stimulated to contribute significantly and positively in the future. Self. Gatsby benchmark 3, 5, 6 and 8.
